Dan Kellem, president
Dan Kellem brings years of software development experience to an industry that is dominated by graphic designers. Dan holds a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology as well as a BA in Theology from San Jose Christian College. His interest moved to computers as a graduate student while doing fluid dynamics research using the same software that NASA used to model the space shuttle re-entry.
Dan was part of the team at IBM Almaden Research center that developed the TrackPoint pointing device in IBM ThinkPad computers. He has several patents and publications (How to Personalize the Web, IBM's 1998 patents) about human computer interaction and using intelligent agents to aid the web browsing experience.
In 1996, Dan began doing software development and web consulting on a part time basis. During this time, he was a Software Development Manager at PowerTV (now a division of Scientific Atlanta). At PowerTV, he was responsible for developing TV based email, chat, and web browser applications, as well as managing the Client Services portion of the PowerTV Operating System.
Blue Ridge Solutions, Inc is a continuation of Dan Kellem’s self-named consulting business.

Cathy, content editor
Cathy is a 1997 graduate of UNC Asheville and holds a BA in Mass Communication, with a minor in English. She served for one year as editor-in-chief for The Blue Banner.
She has worked as Business Office Manager for both the Eastern Shore Pregnancy Center in Salisbury, MD and Parkway Family Physicians in Asheville, NC.
She now divides her time between chasing her two-year-old daughter and picking apart sentences for Blue Ridge Solutions. Based on her understanding of Anglo-Saxon, she hates split infinitives.
